Quick hospitality hacks from Christine:

Add a tea light to any table setting and BAM! You just kicked it up a notch.

If you don’t have flowers blooming in your yard, clip some interesting foliage instead. Still beautiful!

Always use placemats or a tablecloth during meals. It’s a great habit, and you know exactly where they are before guests arrive.

Be a guest in your own guest room and bath. Sleep in the bed. Is it comfortable? Get ready in the bathroom. Is the lighting good?

Silverware is not plastic. Ever. Unless you’re on a picnic on a boat, use the real thing. Classy!

A potted plant—orchid, fern, begonia, violets—can double as an instant  centerpiece. Showcase them!

Use a simple wooden cutting board to hold your centerpiece, condiments, salt & pepper, spices. Clever!

Check your front door before guests arrive. Is it clean? Uncluttered? Does the porch light work? First impressions matter!

Check the powder room before guests arrive. Wipe down the toilet/sink, replace toilet paper, freshen the hand towel. Now you’re ready!

Shut down the TV and start up some music before guests arrive. Classical is more formal, jazz is relaxing, pop builds energy. Dance party!
